- Konstantinos Liakatsidas είναι Καρδιολόγος – Αρρυθμιολόγος με ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στο Χαλάνδρι, από το Μάρτιο 2023. Είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής σχολής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (2006). Έχει ειδικευθεί στην Εσωτερική Παθολογία (2014) και στην Καρδιολογία (2015) στη Σουηδία, ενώ από το 2014 έχει ασχοληθεί εκτενώς και εξειδικευθεί στην κλινική αρρυθμιολογία και διαχείριση εμφυτεύσιμων καρδιακών συσκευών στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο του Γκέτεμποργκ στη Σουηδία.
As part of his cardiology training, he spent many years working in emergency cardiology, diagnosing and treating common cardiac conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease, atrial fibrillation, etc., as well as rarer conditions such as congenital heart defects and inherited arrhythmogenic disorders (ARVC, Brugada syndrome, LQTS, CPVT). After more than 8 years of clinical practice in his field of specialization at one of the largest cardiology centers in Scandinavia, and having participated in numerous international seminars and educational sessions, he possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the implantation and follow-up of all modern pacemaker and defibrillator systems, with >1,100 implantations and >2,500 follow-up visits for patients with cardiac devices.
He works with all major pacemaker/defibrillator manufacturers, such as Medtronic, Abbott, Boston Scientific, and Biotronik, and is certified to implant the leadless pacemaker—the Medtronic Micra (>15 implants), His-bundle pacing (>30 implantations), and the subcutaneous defibrillator—the Boston Scientific Emblem S-ICD (>10 implantations). After moving to Greece, in September 2022, he joined the 4th Cardiology Clinic of Interventional Cardiology at Metropolitan General Hospital and became the scientific director of the pacemaker department at IASO Thessaly and the Central Clinic of Athens. Since September 2023, he has also been collaborating with the First Cardiology Clinic at IASO General Clinic (Marousi).
At his private practice, he treats common cardiac conditions and performs most general cardiology tests, such as electrocardiograms, triplex echocardiograms, Holter monitoring of heart rhythm (up to 7 days), and Holter monitoring of blood pressure (24 hours). As part of its specialization, the clinic also investigates and treats various types of arrhythmias and performs more specialized procedures, such as the monitoring and programming of pacemakers, loop recorders, and defibrillators. Other tests, such as exercise tests, stress echocardiograms, myocardial scintigraphy, cardiac MRI, etc.—which require a specialized technical and controlled environment and are typically used to investigate arrhythmias—are performed at the aforementioned partner clinics or at the patient’s discretion.
